The Florida Home Builders Foundation will host its second annual Future Builders of America weekend camp July 8-10, 2005, for FBA chapter student officers. The camp will take place at the Florida FFA Leadership Training Center in Haines City. Camp activities will include leadership training, construction-related activities and recreational opportunities. Students should contact their Chapter Advisors for more information.

The FHB Foundation hosted the inaugural Future Builders of America Summer Camp in July and August 2004. Eight students from the Lely Construction Academy FBA Chapter in Naples attended the camp. Camp activities included a review of business ethics, an overview of building a home from the ground up, a hands-on computer-aided design class, and team building competition.  View the Camp Photo Gallery >>

The FHB Foundation, with generous support from the Florida Home Builders Association and its members, is currently moving forward with the construction and opening of the FBA Training Center that will offer a camp-like setting for Future Builders of America members. The camp will be open during the summer of 2006 to host meetings of FBA chapters from throughout the state. Eventually, the FBA Training Center will be available for weekend retreats during the school year. The training center will offer a unique chance for FBA members to enjoy a summer camp experience that provides an opportunity to improve leadership skills and learn construction techniques in an environment dedicated to the home construction industry.
